Varnishing me felt awkward and surreal, but at least I now have one decent self portrait for my girls to inherit (like one precious heirloom) or to put at the back burner (like one antique find at a thrift shop) They say that every artist should have at least one self portrait in her lifetime. This painting with a simple gold frame signifies another milestone, my “50-ish” plastered face that my fambam would hopefully cherish for years to come
